Carle Class
What a fantastic Term 4 Carle Class have had! We continued with our learning about animals with a day out in the rain to Lackham College to see the lambs. We were so lucky to see a lamb being born! We all enjoyed feeding the lambs too.
We have had a great term of learning about dinosaurs with a visit from Andrew Skelton from the Chippenham Museum who led a fantastic fun-filled workshop where we learnt lots of great dinosaur facts. We spent a full day outdoors for our Dinosaur Day where we dug for dinosaur bones, made food for the dinosaurs in the mud kitchen and used our Maths skills to weigh dinosaur bones on the balance scales. We used some wonderful language making up dinosaur stories and have been learning some dinosaur songs which we are looking forward to sharing with you in our Class Assembly next term. We have been inspired to do some wonderful writing about dinosaurs and we are getting really good at our sentence writing.
Our maths learning has continued to flourish and we are now really confident with our numbers to 20. We explored weighing and capacity, counted money and doubled and shared our fruit at snack time.
We invited our mums in for a Mother’s Day celebration where we sung to them, told them why we love them so much, shared our learning diaries and gave them all a slice of cake – made by us – and a daffodil. There were a few happy tears!
Finally we finished the term learning about Easter. Lots of us made an Easter Bonnet for our end of term Easter Parade.
We are now looking forward to a warm and sunny Summer term!
